The Nursery

The Nursery takes account of the guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage, to plan a wide and varied programme, appropriate to the age & development of the children between the ages of 2 and 4. All the six nationally recommended areas of learning are taught in the style of continuous provision. This is presented in an imaginative & creative way and encourages and motivates the children to investigate, learn and have fun at the same time. The Nursery manager and senior nursery staff meet every half term to plan the programme and then present and discuss this to all the staff in an additional staff meeting, or by minutes of the meeting for those volunteers unable to attend. The Reception teacher at a local primary school has commented on how well prepared the children are who go to their school from Potters House.
